Now entering its 23rd season, The Giving Tree provides gifts, food and utilities vouchers for residents in the Mancos Valley from Thanksgiving through Christmas. They’ve served hundreds of residents over the years. Giving Trees are posted at sites around Mancos, including the Dolores State Bank, the Artisans, P&D Grocery, Zuma Natural Foods, The Columbine Bar and the Mancos Public Library.

Applications for families or individuals are available at the P&D, Dolores State Bank, Mancos School offices and the Visitors Center kiosk at the corner of Main and Grand Avenues. Completed applications can be dropped at Dolores State Bank, Mancos Schools, the Artisans or mailed to Mancos Valley Resources at PO Box 204, Mancos, CO 81328. There is also a drop box outside of the MVR office at 101 Bauer Avenue.

In 2020, The Giving Tree provided 120 individuals encompassing 35 families and nursing home residents with gifts for Christmas. Community volunteers helped to wrap gifts, organize and deliver presents.
