NEWS AND UPDATES

Hello MVR Supporters:

Amidst the uncertainty and chaos happening in the world right now, it’s important to remember that we have valuable resources in our community for help.

Here is a listing of MVR’s projects and other community resources available:

Mancos FoodShare:

Our low risk volunteers will pre-pack all food boxes and take them outside to people’s vehicles. No one will come in the pantry or grange hall except this small team. We will try to stock some basic sanitation items and we will provide those to the community along with instructions for homemade hand sanitizer and wellness teas.
  • Commodities from Mancos FoodShare, distributed at Mt. Lookout Grange, 680 Grand Ave, Mancos. Hours: 4-5 pm on 4th Monday of the month. To keep everyone safe, we will be pre-packing boxes and bringing outside. Please DO NOT line up. Wait at your vehicles and we will help everyone one by one.

Each Monday, a weeks’ worth of meals per child will be provided for all children ages 0 to 18-years within our district. Meals will be provided to all students without charge.

If you live in an area serviced by one of our school buses, meals will be delivered via our bus route. The bus routes will start at 10 am and continue to all the stops. Please make sure you or your students are present at the bus stop for delivery. If you are unsure of the location (for students that don’t usually ride a bus and PK students, please contact Sharon at 970-533-7792 or busbarn@mancosre6.edu). Please do not approach the bus until your family name has been called. Be mindful of social distancing. The Northside of the highway including Mountain View Trailer Park and the Menefee Overlook Apartments will be at the beginning of the bus stops.

If you live in town, south of Highway 160, you will need to continue picking up your meals each Monday in front of the High School. Pick up time will be from 10 am-12pm.
