Mancos Valley Resources

For 25+ years, we have served as an incubator for grassroots projects in the Mancos Valley.

As the Town’s only fiscal pass-through sponsor, we provide projects with key administrative and financial support. This enables the projects to devote their limited time and resources to their missions, which support the needs of the Mancos Valley and surrounding Community.

Donate today, and keep the Heart of our Community beating strong.

Our Mission

MVR is a community based charitable 501(c)(3) umbrella organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the unique agricultural, charitable, cultural, educational, historical, and recreational assets of the Mancos valley. MVR accomplishes its mission by advocating, facilitating and supporting the diverse efforts of our sponsored projects to meet their defined needs through grants and other funding sources.

What We Do

Mancos Valley Resources is the heart of the Mancos community. For more than 25 years, we’ve promoted the recreational, educational, cultural, historical and charitable assets of the Valley by supporting local and county grassroots, charitable projects.

As a trusted and established 501(c)(3), we serve as a fiscal sponsor for these projects, providing insurance coverage, tax preparation, grant solicitation support, fundraising and marketing. This allows our projects to direct their limited time and resources toward their programmatic goals.

For some of these grassroots community projects we serve as an incubator, allowing them to grow as an organization until they are ready to form their own 501(c)(3). We are proud that many of the successful nonprofits in Montezuma County started under MVR, including the Cortez Recreation Center, Leadership Montezuma, the Mancos Community Health Center and the Pinon Project.

Board of Directors

The Mancos Valley Resources Board of Directors features a diverse group of community members passionate about Mancos and facilitating positive change within the community. We are looking for new board members. Please email us if you’re interested!
